Airport Environment

Dona Ana County International Jetport is the primary airport serving the Santa Teresa, Doña Ana County area in New Mexico, located near Interstate 10 and the U.S.-Mexico border. The airport is situated in a high desert environment, surrounded by flat terrain with distant mountains, including the Organ Mountains to the northeast. The area is well-connected by road, with easy access to I-10. The desert climate can lead to occasional high winds, dust storms, and low visibility, particularly during spring and summer.

NavShare Offering

The RNAV (GPS) M RWY 28 Special procedure was designed to enhance access to Dona Ana County International Jetport during challenging weather conditions, such as high winds or reduced visibility due to dust storms. It provides the only vertically guided approach to DNA’s Runway 28. It carefully navigates El Paso Airspace, Mountainous terrain to the east, and keeps the aircraft entirely within US Airspace north of the border.
